  i think that for the most part, dissenting views should be allowed to exist because of free speech principles.

  one person may strongly feel that something is true while someone else may present “facts” that support the opposing view.

  when that is the case, healthy discussion is mostly productive.

  That can be applied either way; the rightists consuming foes until the center is in the sights, or (as I see right now) the radical leftists pushing their agenda until noone can object.

  I will make a bold prediction. Trump will resign, pence will hand over the rei( g)ns, Biden will get sick and Harris will be president.

  I do not think trump can go back to private life in Florida. May do as c. Chaplin did and move to Switzerland.

  Also a Weimar republic currency, high taxes, mandated conversion to fairy dust energy. And you WILL smile as balkanization is completed

  New JW study book / method announced on JW Broadcast

  so did anyone catch the january jw broadcast?.

  it's the "spiritual content" of what would have been introduced in the october annual meeting, had the october annual meeting taken place.. morris, splane, and jackson introduce a new jw study publication: "live forever eternally - an interactive guide".. details were sparse, but apparently it is a 256 page book (when in actual printed form), primarily designed to be used in its electronic form, stuffed with links to videos.. it is designed to be "just one book" to be studied prior to baptism, where "all 60 questions that baptism candidates have to know" are found in just one place.. the purported reason is to make jw "bible" studies more "productive", i.e., lead to more baptisms.. splane brought out the governing body's "great concern" that 10 million+ "bible" studies are conducted by jws every year, but the number of baptisms has been stuck at 200,000 - 300,000 per year for decades.

  so the thinking is, this new book + a "new method of conducting studies" (again, no real detail, but apparently it involves more "discussion" and less "question and answer").. want to know my thoughts?

  Will JWs get DFed if they are caught with old JW publications?

  i was told that if a jw now gets caught reading or with old jw literature they can get dfed.

  i doubt this is true but wanted to know for sure.

  Using old publications to point out errors and hypocrisy makes waves. That is what gets attention.

  The assembly hall had a studies opened to the pyramid. Nobody catches on that 1914 is determined by a system every bit as reliable as astrology.

  cults are famous for controlling information about people, places and events which are embarrassing to their self-myths.in my experience from the beginning of my personal contact with jehovah's witnesses - i knew next to nothing at all.

  i was in elementary school in the 6th grade, age 12. a school chum who was a jw befriended me and the indoctrination began straightaway!it took all of 6 years of studying and attending meetings before i agreed to be baptized on a date very easy to remember: it was november 23, 1963 - the day after president john f. kennedy was murdered a few miles away in dallas.

  (during the convention i attended - not a single mention of assassination or kennedy or his family was spoken.

  Interesting. The plagiarism is way different than the searching the WT claims was done.

  Someone posted a " MyBook of Bible Stories" from the 30's as I remember identical down to the same plates could have been used in part.

  You can show some of this stuff and people refuse to "see" it.

  The flaw is the elders are above the law. Just ask them. They figure you signed away rights at baptism. I suspect a couple people I know went the lawyer present request as they are not active and the elders will not mention them or drop in doing door work.

  Aer you food prepping since covid?

  for several years i have been vacuum sealing and then mylar with oxy absorber's storing rice,beans, tea, things that have a 50 year shelf life if kept dry.

  i have also been putting back a few guns and ammo in case of a mostly peaceful riot from the left.

  i also buy mountain house food bags that have a 25 year shelf life.

  Always a decent pile of food. The short lived things are hardest. I should figure how Mormons do it--rotating?

  I do have firearms but have no delusions about my skill, temperament, age, health. The stories from the Balkans teach us we need a group (militia)

  OR wait in our basement or attic. BTW, did you notice they never have a bucket in the corner?
